Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between content writing and ghostwriting?
I get asked this question fairly often by prospective clients, as I price each type of writing differently. Which one you choose depends on a number of factors, including the needs and goals of your business. It ultimately comes down to one thing: Bylines. In freelance speak, a byline is the name of the author on the blog or article.
Content writing means my byline is to be listed on the blog or article I write for your business.
What this means:
I am able to use the piece of content for my portfolio.
I can link back to the content when referencing content I have written in my industry.
Ghostwriting means your byline is to be listed on the blog or article I write for your business.
What this means:
The content appears written by you or your team (without you having to actually write it!)
Some brands and businesses prefer ghostwriting, as it gives the appearance of in-house content, therefore creating content authority.
Why are your packages for a minimum of 3 months?
My packages are for a minimum of 3 months for a number of reasons:
It builds long-term client-writer relationships that are mutually beneficial.
It provides time to determine client-writer communication styles and working styles.
It allows you to plan your content in advance.
It factors in the possibility that your content plan is subject to change, short-notice.
It allows me to gauge my workload capacity and adjust as needed.
It allows me to gain familiarity with your branding, voice, tone, and values.
